I'm Alba Troya, a veterinary surgeon specialising in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.

My journey in veterinary medicine began in Spain, where I completed my degree and my first postgraduate certificate in orthopaedics for small animals. I further honed my expertise in the UK, achieving my PGCertSAS from Harper Adams University.

Throughout my career I've been fortunate to work in some of the top referral hospitals, including Fitzpatrick Referrals and Anicura Valencia Sur. I've had the privilege of learning from some of the most renowned surgeons in the field, whose expertise has profoundly influenced my own approach to surgery. My professional path has taken me from general practice in the UK to several internships in Spain, and even a surgical course in Argentina — all of which have helped shape my skills and my commitment to animal care.

Collaborative approach

I tailor my services to each clinic's specific needs, integrating with your existing workflow. Your team retains continuity of care; clients receive specialised outcomes without leaving the practice they trust.

My calling

From my early days at university I knew surgery was my calling. Working as a surgical assistant during summer internships sparked a passion that has only grown. Despite being in a predominantly male field, I'm proud to have thrived as a woman orthopaedic surgeon. In the operating room I feel fully engaged and focused — it's a role I genuinely love.

Outside of work

In my free time I enjoy trekking, spending time in nature and taking care of my two beloved cats, Frodo and Leo.
