Process

How does it work?

A simple, transparent workflow — from the first WhatsApp message to the final post-operative X-ray.

Initial contact

When you have a surgical case, simply get in touch via email, WhatsApp or phone. Initially I can assess pictures by WhatsApp, then please send the DICOM X-ray images in a compressed zip file via email, along with the patient's clinical history, physical examination notes and relevant findings for thorough assessment.

Case review & scheduling

In many cases we can discuss the case on the same day, decide on the next steps and schedule the procedure if necessary. Once the owner's consent is confirmed, I'll order the required implants immediately.

For urgent procedures, I can try to adjust my schedule to accommodate your patient's needs — please don't hesitate to contact me for urgent availability.

Streamlined surgical planning

To ensure efficient planning, implants ordered before 2 pm arrive the next day before 5 pm.

Day of the procedure

On the day of surgery I admit the patient at 9 am (or as scheduled) and discuss all key details with the owner — the surgical procedure, post-operative care and follow-up rechecks.

Equipment & preparation

I provide all necessary orthopaedic surgical instruments, power tools and implants. The clinic should have the following ready in advance:

Medications
  • Bupivacaine 0.5% (nerve block / epidural)
  • Opioid analgesic (e.g. methadone)
  • Broad-spectrum antibiotic IV (e.g. cefuroxime)
Theatre essentials
  • Surgical trolley or comparable surface
  • Drip stand & clippers
  • Diluted chlorhexidine, vet wrap, tape

Post-operative care

After surgery the surgical wound is covered with a dressing, and X-rays are taken if it's an orthopaedic procedure. A detailed surgical report — along with post-operative care instructions (including bandage maintenance guidelines if required) — is emailed the same day, ready to print for the owner. To protect the wound I recommend the use of a buster collar during recovery.

Pricing

Transparent pricing for your clinic

For orthopaedic procedures, many veterinary practices appreciate having a reference list to guide them on pricing when discussing costs with clients. If you'd like a pricing list for your clinic, please get in touch and I'll be happy to send it to you directly.

As a token of appreciation for our inaugural collaboration, I'm pleased to offer a 25% discount on the first peripatetic procedure.
